Houston Heights Woman's Club Records 1900-2004

The records for the Houston Heights Woman's Club consist of meeting minutes, yearbooks, photo scrapbooks, and framed certificates. The club was originally founded with sixteen women in January 1900 at the home of Mrs. Cummings to organize a cultural, social, and literary club known as the Houston Heights Literary Club. The oldest woman's club in Houston later divided into literature, music, civic and art departments and is still in existence today.

The Houston Heights Woman's Club, founded by sixteen wives of Houston Heights founders and originally called the Houston Heights Literary Club, held their first meeting at Mrs. Cummings' home on January 15, 1900.
